The November 8 APW Gym Wars show in Hayward started out well for the Blackout Army. The entire Army came to the ring as J.R. Benson explained that now that Larry Blackwell holds both the APW Universal championship and the APW Internet championship, now the Blackout Army is in control and will dictate policy from here on out!
Benson declared that if former Universal champion Robert Thompson ever wants a rematch, he will have to start at the very bottom and work his way back up. Should he lose any match along the way, he will never get his rematch. Also, Benson declared that Vicious Vic Grimes may be back in APW but before he can wrestle Larry Blackwell for the gold, Grimes must first deal with the Blackout Army gauntlet of Kafu, James Watkins and should he make it that far, J.R. BENSON!
Finally Benson conceded that APW has ordered that Larry Blackwell can not hold both championships and must give one up. He has 30 days to do so. Benson, wanting to keep the gold in the Blackout Army, chose Kryptonite as the chosen one and said he would earn his shot at the Internet championship. The opponent Benson chose for Kryptonite? Kryptonite's girlfriend Melissa!! Further Benson made Voluptuous Brenda the special referee. In a complete mockery of a match, Melissa blatantly put Kryptonite over. Kryptonite spent the entire match trying to cop feels on Melissa (and who can blame him?) before he put the sharp shooter on. Melissa tapped as Brenda counted three (a pinfall face down in the sharp shooter? HUH!!!!).
But the Blackout Army's night was not all fun and games. Benson told Voluptuous Brenda to find a challenger for Larry Blackwell's Universal championship belt. Benson obviously expected Brenda to provide a push over as challenger, thus making the entire night a big Blackout Army joke on APW and the fans. But Benson and Blackwell were stunned when the mystery opponent Brenda set up was none other then Gigolo Steve Rizzono, making his return to APW!!! Benson and Blackwell were furious with Brenda, especially when Brenda was blatantly lusting after Rizzono, her man from several years back, the entire match!!! Rizzono seemed to be on the verge of taking the championship. As Rizzono scaled the top rope, J.R. Benson smashed him in the back of the head with the championship belt and Larry Blackwell scored the tainted pin to barely retain his championship. More animosity within the Blackout Army as after the match, with Blackwell and Benson celebrating the victory, Brenda was checking on the fallen Gigolo Rizzono!! Blackwell and Benson yanked her away and berated her all the way back to the dressing room for showing attention to Rizzono.
Meanwhile Vic Grimes defeated Kafu in his first obstacle to earning his shot at Larry Blackwell's championship belt. What will happen on November 22 when APW returns to the world famous garage for Gym Wars in Hayward? Will Grimes be able to defeat James Watkins to get one step closer to his championship match? Will J.R. Benson actually step up and try to stop Grimes himself? Will Steve Rizzono be back and can the Blackout Army trust Brenda with Rizzono in the house? And what will be next for Kryptonite in proving himself championship worthy to the Blackout Army? November 22 will be a big night in determining the future of the Blackout Army's control in APW.
